Laughing But you know - I find the thought of a male running around in purple sweats and a red cape to be REALLY funny Laughing

So, do you have any ideas for a guy costume?

Rhona will talk electronics to you - she is our resident wizard of electrical components. Not only does she know the correct names of things (I call everything with a plug a thingy-ma-bob, but she knows how they work AND she can fix them when they break.

Why not, didn't Superman run around in Red tights, or were they blue? Does Jeremy Spike like electronics????? Oooow, lets talk OR gates and NOR gates, or do you prefer RS232 chips. I replaced 18 switch membranes, 10 Flourescent Displays, 2 Step down transformers and a multiplexer today.... I was also the company hero when I let Engineering and Purchacing know there were 1216 Single inline micro-controller modual sockets stored in the attic. tanzt One Engineer was so happy he got dirty getting them down and Starbucks is Happy cause their order won't be delayed....
hate-ok
so much for tooting my own horn!!! I did leave work today with that warm fuzzy feeling.

Haha...different type of electronics, well kinda.....I meant like the consumer electronics. Like that flat wide screen hdtv I have sitting in my living room and my Ipod (aka running companion) and my XBOX 360 cause when you have a flat wide screen hdtv you have to have a XBOX 360 to go with it and visa versa. Those are the types of electronics I am talking about, however when I was growing up I stayed with my volunteer youth pastor and his family and he was an electronic engineer as a full time job and I will tell you what...talk about bringing your job home with ya! Haha...I wish I knew more about the electronic engineering stuff!

I am working on trying to finish a season of Madden 06 (I know I am a year behind, but this game is the same every year and has very little changes). I Also have Need for Speed most wanted and my wife has Kameo. They are starting to come out with some pretty cool new games for the system. I just love the graphics and every time I play I hook up the surround system and I just get so into it, it's insane...I can't wait to see what PS3 and the WII have to offer. The PS3 will be a good package at a great deal considering it will be the fist system with Blu Ray capablilities to play blue ray dvds, not only that but I have heard that the games that are coming out for the PS3 do better at showing the great quality of HD than the 360 does...we'll see though. I'm pumped, but I don't think that I will be buying it until a year or so after it comes out. The WII is supposed to be pretty cool as well, but I probably won't be buying anything from Nintendo until my son gets older, because the Nintendo systems seem to be more of a beginer's system. When I was younger I started out with an atari and then went to the Nintendo NES system and man have systems really evolved...to think that just 15 or 20 years ago that all there was was the Nintendo Nes and Atari and now we have the XBOX 360 and the PS3. We've come a long way!

Ahhhh, but Nintendo always had (and still has) some of the best RPGs. My kids are HUGE Rpg fans..I don't think that we have a sports game in the house. Their back-up systems were always the PS series...they had mutual heart attacks the year the Final Fantasy switched from Nintendo to PS.

A couple of years back, when the XBox came out, I had one on order for my kids for Christmas. When it arrived, THEY MADE ME SEND IT BACK. They woouldn't have it in the house. I thought that was funny.

My daughter's boyfriend has the XBox, though. He plays the Halo series.

Halo 2 is the best! I don't see myself getting bored anytime soon and I think the game has been out at least 2 years now. I love playing it with my friends that are scattered around the U.S.

Oblivion is a GREAT RPG. The graphics are beautiful and there is entirely too much to do. I played everyday from about 6:30pm-12:00am for about a month and then put it down. I definitely want to pick it up again soon though.

Oh yeah, Geometry Wars is great fun too! It is available for download in the XBOX arcade. Basically you need to shoot all the shapes and keep from running into them. Your score increases more and more as you dodge and shoot at the shapes. It is simple and fun for everyone. It is one of those games you can walk up and play around for 10 or 15 minutes and then walk away or sit and play again and again trying to beat your high score.

I haven't ever been able to get into the halo games...they do have a 3rd one coming out soon for the xbox 360. I have talked to a lot of people that have become sucked into WOW (World of Warfare), I have people I work with here that will go home around 4:30 in the afternoon and play until 2 or 3 in the morning and then go to bed and get up and ready for work and do it all again the next day. People get addicted to that really quick. It is a big RPG that is just played on the computer online.

Both my kids, their girlfriend and boyfriend, my nephew, and actually, just about every kid I know (and these aren't kid-kids, they are all 20-25) play WOW. They have guild meetings on Mondays and Thursdays, and in the summer (when they are home from school), they have lan parties here at the house.

I find it somewhat hysterical to listen to them. They usually (when they are here) will put 4-5 people, in 3 different rooms. Everybody has a microphone, so they are talking all the time, but not neccessarily to each other. They always steal my computer because some kid ALWAYS forgets his own. And then there will be one or two that don't have wireless cards, so I end up with these ethernet cables snaking around the house.

I have a deal with my kids. I don't care how much they play, as long as the grades stay up. My daughter has a 3.9 GPA and my son's is 3.83. If the grades drop, then I pull (the virtual) plug.

Good plan to have! I haven't logged onto WOW yet (I have come close, but just couldn't do it), I am just too afraid that I will enjoy it so much that I too will be come a WOW fanatic and that is something I just can't afford to do right now with a baby on the way and everything. Man o' man though I have come close. WOW has become wide spread in a very quick time, I have one friend that is stationed with me here that has told me that he has enough hours logged on the game in the last year to equal 3 months of time, if he had played 24 hours a day for 3 months.

LOL. I have never been to a Lan party. I can just imagine multiple people glued to their chairs, eyes affixed to the computer screen, and only being disturbed for necessities such as food, drink, and bathroom. hehe

I had to check my play time on EverQuest... My main was at 57 days, 13 hours, and 30 minutes. I had quite a few other characters I played too, but I spent most of the time on this one.

My guys all seem to spell each other for food and potty breaks - but it is generally the GAS that comes out of all of them. They are quite loud about it, and you can always tell - the boys RATE the gas. I feel sorry for Soph and Paige - one time they were little masks, so as to not smell the gas, it was REALLY funny.

My son is a DDR person. We have 2 Japanese PS2 machines, because there were games released there and not here. He dances in tournaments, and he generally places 1st or 2nd, so I think that he is good. I find it fascinating to watch his feet. We have the metal pads here, so he can practice. While he is at school, he practices at the mall (it is only a 5 minute walk).

NeverWinter Nights is another one that my kids are big on, and the entire Final Fantasy series (I think that we are on 12 now).
