I found a big bag of beanie babies in my closet at my parents' house and plan to sell them as a lot on eBay. However, one of them is a Spot with no spot, which I have heard is valuable. He's not in great condition -- no hang tag, the butt tag is frayed a bit at the edges, and he has some dirt spots on him. Is he worth anything as is? Should I try to clean him (his fur is in good condition other than the spots, and I don't want to inadvertently ruin it)? There are mint condition no-spot Spots selling on eBay for hundreds of dollars, but they don't seem to be getting any bids. What sort of price range can I reasonably expect?

Thanks for any help you can give me. :)

Yes he certainly does retain some value,You could probably expect anywhere from $75.00 to $150.00 possibly a little more.Given your description I wouldn't expect much more.Hope this helps.

A MWMT No Spot Spot is worth quite a bit. A tagless MWNT NSS is worth about 1/2 the going price of the MWMT version. Since that one that you have is also dirty with a worn tush, then you have to factor in even more depreciation. I would not reccommend washing him - that will not return him to a mint state, and could possibly damage him further. Do have him authenticated prior to selling - in your case, having an authenticator state his condition on the case might help you sell (dirty with no tag doesn't sound so bad to a collector when they are at least guaranteed that he was real). He was counterfeited extensively.
